Early Life

As early as the age of 7, Nolan started making short films through his father’s Super 8 camera. Growing up, Christopher Nolan was influenced by the science fiction films.

Nolan went to University College London, where he studied English literature something unrelated to film-making. After earning his degree he started working as a script reader, camera operator, and director of corporate videos and industrial films.

Nolan’s journey in his career was not a fruitful one. He had no support financially and whatsoever to getting his projects off the ground. After the successful release of his first feature film “Following”, Nolan created a name in the film industry. Following the success of “Following”, which won several awards, he was given the opportunity to make “Memento” his breakthrough film. From there, Nolan released one smash hit after another, one bigger hit and profitable than another.
