John Christopher Depp II, or known as Johnny Depp was born on June 9, 1963 in Owensboro, Kentucky, US. His parents, Betty Sue Palmer a waitress, and his father John Christopher Depp a civil engineer. He and his siblings moved to over 20 different places during his childhood and in time settled in Miramar, Florida in 1970.
Depp received a guitar from his mother when he was 12 and began playing in various bands. He dropped out of high school to follow his dreams, to become a rock musician. He joined a band name The Kid, apparently the band members split up before they could sign a record deal. Later on, Depp collaborated with the band named Rock City Angels, where he met Lori Ann Allison, his first wife, the sister of his band's bassist and singer.

Depp debuted as director and screenwriter with The Brave in 1997. Depp was also immersed with drugs and deep depression. However, his behavior didn't made an impact with his professional life and continued to pursue his career and success.
He prefers to choose the roles that he founds interesting which he received critics about it as "iconic loners". In 2003, he portrayed the role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the Walt Disney Pictures film Pirates of the Caribbean. In 2007, Depp collaborated with Tim Burton with their sixth film together, this time portraying murderous barber Sweeney Todd in a musical.
