Vanderpump and her husband owns a 5 restaurants in California, and designed the 26 restaurants and bars herself that she also co-owned with her husband in London, before they move to US. The Villa Blanca is based in Beverly Hills, while Sur, is alongside with PUMP Restaurant Lounge, Tom Tom, and Liza Vanderpump's Stonebaked pizzería, are located in West Hollywood.

In 2011, Vanderpump wrote the book "Simply Divine: A Guide to Easy, Elegant, and Affordable Entertaining", and is also a writer and editor for the "Beverly Hills Lifestyle" magazine. She released a line of homewares in November 2014,  called "The Vanderpump Beverly Hills Collection" while his husband launched a line for pet accessories called "Vanderpump Pets". In March 2019, Vanderpump opened their Vanderpump Cocktail Garden in Caesars Palace.

Vanderpump started her career in the entertainment industry as a full-time drama student when she was 9 years old and appeared in numerous television shows, including films. Her film debut was the romantic comedy film "A Touch of Class", in 1973. She also made an appearance in a 1978 British horror film "Killer's Moon", and in the British series "Kids".

Vanderpump also featured in several music videos, including the band ABC's 1980s music videos "Poison Arrow" and "Mantrap", "(What) In The Name of Love" by Naked Eyes, and Lady Gaga's "G.U.Y" in 2014.

In 2010, she was an original cast member of the show "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills", and announced her leaving from the show after its nine seasons. She was featured in 2013, in a spin-off of the program Vanderpump Rules, which focuses on her staff, on her West Hollywood based restaurants. Vanderpump competed on the 16th season of the American dance competition television series "Dancing with the Stars", partnered with the professional dancer Gleb Savchenko and was ended up in 10th place after being the second couple eliminated from the competition.

In 1982, Lisa Vanderpump and Ken Todd got engaged 6 weeks after they met, and got married within 3 months. The couple have two children: a daughter, Pandora, and son, Max, which Lisa adopted when he was still a baby.

In 2005, the family moved to Los Angeles, California where they bought a house in the gated community of Beverly Park, which they sold later in 2011 for over $18 million and bought a house in the neighborhood of Benedict Canyon for $12 million.

Vanderpump and her husband supports many various charities including the Keep Memory Alive which is founded by Larry Ruvo. The Keep Memory Alive organization was established to raise awareness to different types of neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, Huntington;s disease, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and Parkinson's disease.
