Steve Carell showed his wits and comedian side for Crazy, Stupid, Love. Despicable Me revealed his family friendly father trait. He portrayed a semi-serious indie ensemble member for the Foxcatcher.
Carell played ice hockey and lacrosse during his high school years. He also knows how to play the fife. He received his History degree at Ohio's Denison University in 1984. During his college years, he was a member of Burpee's Seedy Theatrical Company. He was also a goalie on the school's Big Red hockey team. After graduating, he planned to pursue his studies at law school. He did not pursue his plan when he cannot answer the question on why he would want to become a lawyer.
Carell worked as a mailman before performing with The Second City comedy troupe. He began appearing on television shows and movies in 1991. He debuted a minor role in the movie Curly Sue, where he played as a waiter. The Dana Carvey Show in 1996 marked his comedy and writing careers.
In the early 2000s, his career started to shine but he did not earn leading man roles. His role as a tongue-tied news anchor in the movie Bruce Almighty is one of the most funniest points in his career. Carell finally got a lead role in 2005 for the TV series The Office. He played as Michael Scott, the clueless regional manager of Dunder Mifflin. In the same year, he also got his first movie lead role as Andy Stitzer in The 40-Year-Old Virgin. The movie is one of the best comedies of the 2000s. It also lift Carell's career and become a certified star-worthy funny person. He also gained a lot of attention for his role as oddball meteorologist in Anchorman.

Carell married actress Nancy Wells on August 5, 1995. They met at the Second City in an improvisation class where Wells is his student. Wells worked as a bartender where Cartell would go in after shows and try to start a conversation. They were both timid, shy, and nervous around each other. He asked her to go on a date by saying: "Hey, you know, if I were ever to ask a woman out, it would be someone like you." And she answered with "If a guy like you were ever to ask a woman like me out, I would definitely do that."
They both worked on The Daily Show With John Stewart in 1999. In 2001, they welcomed their eldest daughter and their son in 2004.
Steve Carell had almost two decades of acting work before his big break.
Despicable Me 2 earned $368 million, Minions collected $336 million. Furthermore, Despicable Me 3 got $264.6 million and Despicable Me earned $251.5 million. He played as Gru in these successful movie sequels. The 40-Year Old Virgin earned $109.4 while the Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues got 127.3 million.
Carell made $300,000 per episode as Michael Scott at The Office.
Carell received many awards from different awarding bodies. He won as Best Actor in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy for The Office from Golden Globe Awards. He also received the Best Actor award for Foxcatcher from AARP Awards. He also won the Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Little Miss Sunshine. Film Independent Spirit Awards' gave him a Special Distinction Award for the Foxcatcher.
