Williams hosted the national television talk show "The Wendy Williams Show" which garnered numerous audience or "co-hosts" as what she calls. Early Life

Wendy Joan Williams was born on July 18, year 1964 in Asbury Park, New Jersey. Her parents, Shirley and Thomas Williams, and she is the second among of three children. She completed her high school in Ocean Township High School, graduated in collage in Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts with an Associate of Science degree in communications where she was a DJ for a college radio station, WRBB, run by the students of Northeastern University.

Career

Williams started her career working in WVIS, a radio station in United States Virgin Islands. She began working at urban contemporary WRKS in 1989 as a substitute disc jockey. She was hired by WRKS as a full-time for its morning show and shifted to its afternoon show a year later, and won the Billboard Award for "Best On-Air Radio Personality" in the year 1993.

The Wendy Williams Show

Williams was offered by Debmar-Mercury, a six-week trial for her own talk show in 2008, and debuted her daytime talk show on July 14, 2008, which is "The Wendy William Show". The show has been broadcast nationally by Fox on their stations in 2009 and was aired internationally a year later through BET International.

The show received various nominations including  the Outstanding Talk/Show Entertainment at the Daytime Emmy Awards. The show has an average of 2.4 million viewers daily, Williams has been trading off daily as the number one female host with Ellen DeGeneres, on daytime television.

On February 2018, William announced that her show will be on hiatus for the reason that she is having complications with Graves' disease and hyperthyroidism.

In March 2020, the show appeared as The Wendy William Show @ Home due to the coronavirus pandemic, and broadcast through video chat. Williams announced to the public that the return of live broadcast in-studio of her show will be on September 21, 2020.

Other Television Appearances

Williams played as a judge on the comedy-drama/fantasy television series Drop Dead Diva that aired on Lifetime. She was also a guest judge on the modeling-themed reality television series The Face.

In February 2013, her husband and manager, Kevin, was announced that they will be starting a reality television production company, producing game shows, unscripted content, and reality television. Williams was one of the executive producer of the show Celebrities Undercover, and the biographical television film Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B.

Williams also hosted and produced the documentary series Death By Gossip with Wendy Williams in September 2015.

In 2014, Williams appeared in an all-female based comedy series. Stand-up comedy was on her bucket-list before she turned 50 and on July 2014, she made her sold-out comedy debut.

Williams launched a clothing line for everyday women, partnering with the Home Shopping Network (HSN) and was sold exclusively at HSN. She also has a line of jewelry called "Adorn by Wendy Williams" on the home shopping network QVC.

Williams was married to Bert Girigorie, her first husband. The couple lasted and separated for five months in 1994 and got officially divorced after a year and a half.

Williams married her second husband, Kevin Hunter on November 30, 1997 and had their son, Kevin Hunter Jr. born in 2000. It was reported that on April 2019, Williams filed a divorced to her husband, Hunter, after knowing that he had fathered a child with another woman.
